The mounting tape is, for instance, used in the automotive industry for fastening filmic door linings or for mounting signs or nameplates. tesa 4959 is especially designed to connect flexible materials to one another. The mounting and splicing tape is able to withstand numerous environmental factors such as humidity, UV light and temperatures of up to 200C for limited periods of time. The modified acrylic adhesive provides an excellent hold on various surfaces, very high tack and good shear strength. The adhesive is based on a flexible and conformable fleece backing with a 71 m glassine liner; versions with higher liner strength are also available.
